Subject: [KYGRAVES] Graves County Order Book G - Page Images 526-550 Ready For Distribution
Date: Sun, 18 Aug 2002 17:59:57 -0500

My friends -

I am dropping by to let you know that I have now completed the digitization
of pages 526-550 in Graves County Order Book G - a double segment - and
they are ready for distribution.

Here again are the guidelines for requesting the individual images of the
pages:

1)No more than 5 page image requests per segment (a "segment" is a 25 page
group, such as 526-550)

2)Please do not request page numbers higher than 550 - they are *not*
digitized yet.

3)Placing "GCOBG Image Request" in the Subject header will help flag the
request to me

4)Depending on the number of requests received, it may require up to 72
hours to respond. If you do not hear from me within 72 hours, query me.

5)Requests by non-subscribers or from Personalized Mailing List(PML)
recipients will not be filled, due to time constraints.

6)Just as a reminder, pages 1 through 550 are now digitized and ready for
distribution.

7)The Preliminary Every-Name Index to this Order Book is located here:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygraves/MIGCORDBG.htm

8)Please do not resend this message back to me with the request.

Those of you with hotmail and webtv addresses should be aware that MSN and
webtv, through their hotmail (and now even their msn.com mail service) and
web mail services, impose limits on the size of attachments that they will
handle, and the images are fairly large files, even though they are created
in the smallest possible JPG format. With hotmail or webtv, just 5 images
often will not go through and are bounced back to me. In the past, I have
tried various ways to get around this size problem(which, so far, no other
ISP has imposed - or, at least, 5 pages or less will generally always go
through on other ISP's), but it is time consuming to try to do so, and each
time that the messages are "bounced" back to me, there is a downloading
time involved, due to the return of the image files with the bounced
e-mail. Due to time constraints, I am not going to be able to continue to
try to experiment with ways to get these images to go through. If the
message comes back to me, I will not try to resend it,although I may notify
the requesting party and ask for an alternate e-mail address, if they have
one. Those with the hotmail and webtv addresses may want to limit their
requests to no more than 3 images, in order to try to avoid this size limit
problem, or give me an alternate address that does not involve these two ISP's.

We are now within about 100 pages of completing the digitization of Order
Book G - as far as I know(and I stress that phrase), this is the only
project of this sort out there at this time created through private means
for use by certain mail list subscribers. Perhaps it will blaze a trail for
others.
