I emailed you the census images for 1850-60-70. I don't know if you have looked at them yet or not, but I wanted you to look at the 1870 because I thought it had Jr. behind Nelsons name. I now know that he is not a Jr. The Nelson born in 1823 that I thought could be his father is not married in 1850. If you look on the 1850 census, the household just before your Nelson is a Jacob Williams, 77 years old, born in Virginia. The Nelson born in 1823 is living with him. I do believe however that Jacob Williams [77 years old] is your Nelson's grandfather. I am trying to find Nelson and Kitty on the 1900 census, but have had no luck. I did find Nelson on the 1910, but he is no longer married to Kitty. His wife is listed as Mary B. Here is the people on that census:
