Hi,
I am looking for anyone who may know of an accident before Social Security was in place of Jesse Harrison England born in TN. He served in the US Armed forces in WW1. He and my grandmother were married July of 1915. They were divorced by 1920 with him looking for work in the coal mines of TN, Kentucky or W. VA/VA. The family can't remember where he went. Therefore, he was missing since that time. The rumor is that my parents went to look for him when I was born in 1947 and they were told by a source that he was killed in the coal mine. I can't find him on the 1920 or 1930 census records. Was it common for the coal miners to not be listed on the census records? If you have any information regarding Jesse or know who I could contact for any information that would lead to me finding his grave or records, I will be appreciative. My email (alternate) is: .
