the message from Roy and Marcie VanDeren reminded me I wanted to tell you
all that I just posted the Rev. War Patriots and ancestors used by Grant
County members of the DAR. Some of them have Harrison Co. connections (one
is Godfrey Van Deren), so you might want to check out the list. Any name
that is on this list would have an application in the Washington office of
DAR, and could be researched (via microfilm) on the spot if you go to the
library, or can be obtained by mail for $10.00.

In many instances older applications are somewhat incomplete, but may be
helpful to some extent. Newer ones, however, can be extremely helpful in
showing the names of the patriot's children, and providing the source of
documentation and proof.
