Fellow researchers,

I'm sure many of you are wondering if--and when--I will ever get around to publishing the "Early Families of Bourbon County, Kentucky: 1775-1820" project that I have mentioned for the past couple of years. Well, I am finally settled in Missouri after transitioning from the military and am ready to take up the project in earnest once again. I will re-assess the project timeline and get back to the list concerning publication dates for the proposed volumes. I expect to accomplish this by the end of the month.

For those new to the Bourbon County list, I need to bring you up to date on what I am talking about. A little over two years ago I began gathering historical and genealogical information on the various families that migrated to Bourbon County, Kentucky, between the years 1775-1820, with the intent of publishing a comprehensive history and genealogy of these families. I asked for data from folks and they responded with an overwhelming amount of data--so far amounting to over 50,000 names, and the database continues to grow! I finally put an end date for receiving data (last June) and prepared to begin the writing process. My original intent was to publish the first volume by the end of the year 2000. Unfortunately, personal and professional difficulties got in the way (my getting out of the Army) and I had to put the project on hold.

I am now ready to resume the project. Anyone interested learning more about this project, please contact me at:

NOTE: Since this project includes families of surrounding counties, I have sent this note to those lists as well.
