Deaths
Mrs. Josephine Cook Wolford, widow of J. A. Wolford, died Tuesday at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. E. W. Stringfield near Philadelphia, PA. Age 68,
youngest child of Stephen B. Cook of Harrison Co. Survived by one sister, Mrs.
Annie E. Wilson of Lexington and one brother, Mr. W. A. Cook of Cynthiana.
Also three grown daughgters: Mrs. J. W. (Mamie) Megibben of New York City;
Louie Wolford; Mrs. E. W. (Alberta) Stringfield of Philadelphia. Buried at
Battle Grove.

Uncle Jack Taylor, 98, died at Beaver Baptist. (See Locust Grove Items.)

Mrs. Bettie Pogue Tinsley,widow of Jas. H. Tinsley, died in Covington. She
was mother of Ben Tinsley of Cynthiana.

Mrs. John W. Bell , 89, died at Pickneyville, IL, Sunday. Native of Harrison
Co. and sister of Elijah Hendricks of Cynthiana, Prof. J. M. and Dr. C. T .
Hendricks of Scott Co.

Russell Clark Toadvine, infant son of Clark Toadvine, died in Belmont on
Tuesday. Burial in Beaver Baptist.

Edward L. Moreland, 46, was killed Tuesday at a construction camp near Paris
by the explosion of a steam boiler.

Blown to Pieces John Follis, 35, a grocer at Frankfort, KY, was blown to
pieces Sunday when a box of dynamite he was carrying to a boat exploded.

Mrs. Sarah K. Yancey, 63, of Lexington, widow of Rev. Worth Yancey who was
pastor of Cynthiana Christian Church a number of years ago, died suddenly from
heart disease at Glendale, Hardin Co. Sunday. Burial in Lexington Cem.

Milford
Mrs. Jemima Blades, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas
Marsh. Born in Bourbon Co. but spent most of her life in Bracken Co.
Survived by three brothers, (not named) and six children: Henry Blades, Milford;
Charles Blades, Powersville; Mrs. G. W. Morrison, Powersville; Mrs. Thomas
Marsh and Mrs. P. M. Spicer of Milford. Buried in IOOF Cem., Brooksville.

Connersville
James Goodnight was struck by a car and killed in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati,
OH, Friday. Son of George and Latishue Green Goodnight, born in Owen Co. in
1856. Married Nancy Bell Hill in 1878. Three children were born with one
surviving, Miss Nora Goodnight. Welburn and Lamar died at the age of one and
five. One sister survives, Mrs. Lawrence Adams. Buried in Cynthiana area.

Wm. Gutman, 24 of Sherman, who married Miss Martha Nelson two weeks ago,
died from pneumonia after illness of only 15 hours.

Sam’l J. Merrill, 73, civil war veteran, died nar Abigail.

Wm. Crawford, 81, died in Mason and was buried at the Baptist grave yard on
Sardis pike.

Locust Grove
Mr. & Mrs. Thos. Phillips, Mr. & Mrs. Al Phillips and Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Tyree,
of Campbell Co., came through Saturday in an automobile to be at the funeral
of their uncle and grandfather, Mr. Jacob Taylor, age 97, who was buried at
Salem Cem. Saturday.

Jacob Taylor, died 5 Dec. Burial in Salem Cem.
