Sunrise Items
Jess Foley has moved to Falmouth where he will run a livery stable.

Mrs. Nancy Jane Williams, died, Jan 25th, at the home of her son, Joe
Beckett, after a lingering illness. She leaves four children (not named). Funeral
by Rev. Sam Foley at the M. E. Church. Burial at Sunrise Cem.

Miss Fannie Hodge died Jan 25th at the home of her uncle, A. B. Whalen at
Sunrise after a lingering illness. Funeral by Rev. C. F. Oney. Burial at
Barlow Cem. Miss Fannie was 43 years old and reared in this county. He mother
died when she was only four years old. She was reared by A. B. Whalen. She
leaves father, two brothers, two half brothers, a half sister. (None named.)
The pall bearers were: Ivy & Vera Price, Pearl Holland, Ivy Whalen, Emma ???,
Clary Whalen.

Claysville Items
Born in Claysville precinct, Jan 19 to the wife of David A. Ward, a
daughter, Edith Ward.

Mr. George Williams and daughter, Mrs. Ada McClure and son, came to
Claysville Friday to visit his sisters, Mesdames Helen McCleod, Mollie Catherwood,
Adaline Jackson, his brother, Tom just over in Robetson County, his daughter
Minnie Meek and their families and many Claysville friends.

Frank Taylor who is charged with the killing of John Delaney in Clark
County, Jan 9, was born and raised at Kentontown and is well and favorably known by
the older Kentontown and Claysville boys and is a member of the Masonic lodge
at Mt. Olivet. He is some 45 or 50 years old. Messrs. Evan Tilton and
Ex-county judge Wm. Kenton went to Winchester, bailed him out and brought him to
his brother’s near Sylvandell. His father, Archie Taylor, put up tobacco in
Kentontown before the war.

Married
Mr. & Mrs. J. W. Stump announce the engagement of their daughter, Ethel
Katherine, to Mr. Joseph Veach Hedges. The wedding will be a quiet affair the
middle of the month.

Mr. & Mrs. Hub Hill announce the engagement of their daughter, Birdie Lee,
to Mr. Esau Northcutt. The marriage will take place at the residence on
Wednesday, Feb 22 at 2:30 o’clock Not cards will be issued. Friends are invited
to attend.

Capt. R. H. Wills, of Cynthiana, and Miss Myrtle Judy, of North Middletown,
Bourbon County were married at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Thos. Judy, Tuesday morning. Immediately after the ceremony Capt. Wills and
his bride drove to Paris in a motor car and left on the Florida Limited for the
South.

Miss Mamie Howard, of this city, and Mr. E. D. Barnes, of near Renaker, were
married in Lexington Yesterday.

Mr. Edward Allen and Miss Edna Buzzard, daughter of Marion Buzzard were
married in this city on Monday.

Yesterday in this city Mr. John T. Smitson, of Claysville, and Miss Elsie
May Lowe, daughter of Thos. Lowe were married by Rev. W.A. Penn.

Mr. Elmer Platt, son of Jos. H. Platt, of this county, and Miss Iva Harney,
daughter of O. G. Harney, of Nicholas County, were married in this city
Sunday.

Mr. W. H. Overly and Miss Martha Brunker, both of Nicholas County, will be
married at the residence of Mr. Joseph Florence next Sunday 5th inst.

Mr. Chas. D. Wilson and Miss Sadie Geohegan, popular young couple of the
Beaver Baptist neighborhood, were married yesterday afternoon at Mrs. Curran’s
boarding house by Rev. C. W. Elsey.
