I am in Moulton, AL but plan to leave on Wednesday to go back to Biloxi.
A little after 8 p.m. last night I tried to get in phone contact with either
of my next door neighbors. Got through to Jim Taylor which was great. He
told me that my house is in good shape with some of the patio cover missing or
damaged and some small trees down. The trees are probably some Bradford
Pears that I planted a couple of years ago and are not too big. He also said
that there did not appear that there was any roof damage. His house sustained
significant loss of shingles on the roof and he got some leaks but no
flooding. The power and telephones were back on line at 3-4 p.m. on Monday. All
sounds good. He said that the houses in our immediate area came out quite well
compared to many of the other parts of the city and coast.
As I say I will be going back to Biloxi on Wednesday, 7 Sept 2005. I left
on Sunday 28 August 2005. It has been wonderful to be with friends while
waiting for the storm to leave and then wait for the time to return to my home.
Thank all of you for your concern and any assistance you have rendered to
charity organizations that are working to help out victims of the storm.
God Bless You.
Doug Harper
