Hi,
Just wanted to announce a few new sites/pages and changes to an older one.
First, the Harrison County Historical Society now has a web presence. Its' pages are now a part of the www.harrisoncountyky.us web page. The exact URL will be:
http://www.harrisoncountyky.us/historical-society/
Be sure to check out their publications page, which now features indexes from two books, 'Cynthiana Since 1790' and 'Cromwell's Comments.' There are lots of names and places indexed (More than forty-pages if printed on paper in a single-column format), so you can check out the indexes before you should decide to buy a book.
Secondly, the archived newsletters of the society, 'The Harrison Heritage News,' have moved from www.cynthianaky.com to the following URL:
http://www.harrisoncountyky.us/harrison-heritage-news/
The newsletters' home page features a clickable index arranged by date and subject, which should make browsing them a little easier. Please be aware, however, that the newsletters since April of this year are in .pdf format, which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and they may take a bit longer to download than older newsletters. I am hoping to correct this situation fairly soon.
Also, I have changed the URL of my site overall and have dropped the 'familyhistorytime.com' portion of the URL from my pages. Since most of my webmastering seems to be devoted to Harrison County, I thought I would go 'whole hog' and change the domain name of the site. If you have gone to my site by typing in www.harrisoncountyky.us all the time, nothing will change, but if you have bookmarked any pages those bookmarks will only work for a short time longer. Harrison County pages are still up at familyhistorytime.com, but they are not being updated. So you need to make the change soon.
Hope you all enjoy the new pages and visit often. Enjoy the weekend!
Until later
