Morning Gleaner Henderson KY Tuesday 27 February 1934

L. B. Smithhart, War Vet, Expires, Funeral Services to be conducted at
Residence Tuesday Morning.

Leslie B. Smithhart, 44, died Sunday afternoon at 2:15 at his home, 1007
S. Main Street, after an illness of several months. A veteran of the World
War, he was a member of the Worsham Post of the American Legion and former
member of the Drum Corps. He was a member of the 149th Infantry and served
overseas.

A native of the Hebbardsville section, he was well and favorably known
throughout the county as well as in the city.

Survivors are the widow, Sena Mary, and seven children, Margaret, Leslie
Benjamin Jr., Wallace, John, Sara, Marianna and LaVerne; 2 sisters Mrs.
G. A. Pirtle and Mrs. W. S. Coleman of the county; a brother Fred S. Smithhart
of Temple City, California.

Funeral services will be held at the house Tuesday morning at 10:00 by
Dr. Ruthford E. Douglas, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial
will be in the Old Bethel Cemetery near Hebbardsville.

The pallbearers will be Legionaires.
