Hi Charlene,

I am new to this board and just started looking into my family ancestory. Looks like we share some family ties.

My Mother is Dorothy Ellen Williams, daughter of Luther B and Ollie May Yates. Epsey Yates and Ellen Berry Grisham were my GG Granparents on my Grandmothers side.

I have the following info about Josiah that I got from a census that I researched some time ago. I believe that Josiah and Nancy Shelton were the parents of Sarah Ellen, Lucy A, Eveline, Caroline and Martha.

Sarah Ellen Shelton was my GG Grandmother. She and Berry Morgan Yates had 6 children

1. DAVID W. YATES b: 4 MAR 1873
2. DORA ELLEN YATES b: 17 AUG 1876
3. WILLIAM C. YATES b: 8 NOV 1883
4. LUTHER B. YATES b: 27 JUL 1886 (Is my Mother's Father)
5. EPHRAN BERRY YATES b: 2 JUL 1890
6. BERTHA LEE YATES

I am trying to figure out a good system to start documenting the family tree but many are expensive and I was recently laid off so I'm having to watch my spending right now. Any suggestions? My e-mail is .
