My friends -

I have returned home, and am dropping by today to let you know that I have
another installment in our continuing series of Jackson Purchase Land
Grants ready for distribution.

This segment details more of the surname which begin with the letter "S".
Specifically, the surnames covered in this file include: Short, Scott,
Stone, Stokes, Slone/Sloan, Stovall, Southerland, Stroud, Scofield, Strous,
Slocumb, Shoults, Smotherman and Shook.

Subscribers to the lists which I host can obtain a copy of this file by
sending a message to me(not to the list, please) with a request for the
file. Please ask for *File LG876*. The file is available in both plain text
and Adobe Acrobat PDF formats. I will send the file as a plain text
attachment to an e-mail message, unless PDF is requested. I can also send
it without an attachment, in the body of an e-mail message, although this
will normally badly skew the columnar alignments. If that approach is
needed, please specify that you need the file as a *straight e-mail*.

The entire file will be sent. I am still receiving requests to go into
these files and extract data about individual surnames. While I wish I
could do that, time constraints just will not allow it.
Several hours are required just to prepare the file for distribution, and
there is no additional time left to extract data.

Non-subscriber/PML requests will be honored only if time permits. If time
does permit, I am happy to respond to these requests, but I will note here
that I have been receiving requests from folks who will tell me that they
are a subscriber to one of my lists, when, in fact, they are not. That
category of request will not receive any response.

I am currently working on a couple of large cemetery files. It is
possible(but not probable, I think) that I could finish one of those
tomorrow. If I do, I will return with that offering.
