Hello Bill,
Thanks for the lookup! I believe the data supports my theory.

Morgan Davis appears in the 1830 Hickman Co. KY census as a male age 20-30
with a wife age 15-20, no children.

In the 1850 Fulton Co. KY census, (Fulton formed from Hickman in 1845) he is
shown as follows:
Morgan Davis age 45 b. KY
Elizabeth (nee Phillips) age 39 b. TN
James age 18 b. KY
Mary age 15 b. KY
Susan age 15 b. KY
Joseph age 9 b. MO***
Emily age 6 b. KY
William age 2 b. KY

Your data from 1840 appears to match as Morgan is shown age 30-40, with a
female age 20-30, a male age 5-10 and 2 females under 5. It appears the move
to MO came after the birth of the daughters in 1835. I suspect Joseph was
born about 1841 and then they moved back to KY.

Inasmuch as I think we have sucessfully identified this Morgan Davis, it shot
down another of my theories that he had a second son named Noah F. Davis who
would have been between 5 and 10 in the 1840 census. Alas, he is not here.

Hope this helps someone.
