I have just made a startling discovery while building communities and
keeping track of extended, extended families. This has nothing to do
the JP Purchase but thought it might make a point.

My maternal ggggrandfather, Edward Housden was in Delaware County
Indiana in the 1830 Census.
As I have read entire older census and kept track of who lived next
to whom, I have discovered that Edward lived next door to the grandfather,
Samuel McClure, of the wife of my paternal ggrand uncle, Peter Walker.
Peter didn't arrive in this country until 1852. He met and married his
wife in Nebraska in 1872!

This was pretty surprising but I guess it really shouldn't be since there
were limited westward moving communities in those times.
