I hope I have sent this to the right address; if not please forward it to
the list:
In the early 1800's families in NC went to Madison County, AL still in
Mississippi Territory and eventuall these same families appeared on Federal
Census Records in Graves County, KY. Notable among these are my husbands
ancestors who came from Guilford/Orange/Alemance counties in NC:
John Clap who remained in AL until the late 1820's and was one of the
first settlers in Lynnvile Precinct, Graves County; m. Sarah Loy in 1806 in
TN.
Lewis Clap and Ezekial Clap; John's brother's.
John Loy
John Hunt
These names all appear on censuses in the JP area. If anyone has information
on these people please write me.
