My friends -

Tonight, we will move to Hickman County, and pick up the series which I
started some time ago on early marriages in that county. As always, if you
see a name of interest, and would like the full data(which is often only
the date, but there is a small smattering of consent data here and there),
let me know and I will get it to you.

In the near future, I am going to start a new series of postings on
available records in the counties of the JP. I get numerous questions from
our List members, and others, concerning whether certain types of records -
or any records at all - are available in one JP county or another, which is
understandable, because they all have different year ranges of extant
holdings, etc. In each county in the JP, there are generally some records
available in spite of courthouse fires(except perhaps for Graves, where
just about everything except a few circuit court minute books were
destroyed. I think a listing of what is there in each county may be of use
to many of you. I'll start on that soon if a number of you feel it would be
worthwhile. What do you think?
