Subject: [KYJP] 1st Confederate Cavalry

Good Afternoon, I have tried for several months to locate anyone that is
also doing research on members of the 1st Confederate Cavalry. This unit
was formed with men from the Jackson Purchase, mainly, Calloway, Graves
and McCracken Counties. Henry Clay King formed this unit and was the
Major. My relative was Captain Manoah Swann of Calloway County, Swann
District, SW section of Calloway County. This unit was formed in the
late summer of 1861 and spent the winter at Camp Beauregard, near Water
Valley. This unit was also involved in the skirmish at Paris, Tenn. in
March of 1862.
Anyone with knowledge or doing research on relatives that were members of
this unit, I would enjoy communication.
