I don't know if this will help, but your local library can get microfilm of
Kentucky newspapers from the University of Kentucky through interlibrary
loan. I just looked and the Mayfield Monitor for 1887 is one of the
newspapers that is available. More information is located at:

Is there anyone on this list that has access to the microfilm of the
Mayfield Monitor that includes January 1887?? I have a photocopy of an
obiturary for Alma Lamm in one of the issues, but I am lacking the date the
newspaper was published. I would be very grateful if there was someone in
Mayfield or Murray who would check this for me.
