Subject: [KYJP] 1860/1870 Mississippi Co, MO, Censuses

By 1880 my Colter/Coulter family was in Fancy Farm in Graves County (and
thanks to everyone on the list who helped me find them.) The census data
shows that they were all born in Missouri. Based on input from the list, I
believe they were born in Mississippi County which has a lot of connections
with the Jackson Purchase, right across the river. I have found an index
record of a Charles H. Colter in the 1860 Mississippi County, Missouri,
census. I believe he is the father who I have been searching for. If anyone
has access to the full 1860 Mississippi County census, could you be so kind
as to do a lookup and provide me with the names of anyone else in his
household? Also, if there are any Haydens or Hobbs living nearby I would
love to get at least the names of the heads of those households (I believe
that Charles married a Hayden or a Hobbs). I would also like to find out if
any of the Colter/Coulters were still in Mississippi County in 1870.

Thanks in advance

Jeff Nelson
Paducah, KY

PS I am about halfway through the Mississippi County marriage lookups that I
offered to do (I got a few more requests than I had anticipated <grin>) so
if you haven't heard from me yet, I will respond to you by early next week.
