Subject: [KYJP] Unusual Sobriquets - Continued

My friends -
I am glad to be able to report that my ISP's new mail servers are up and
running(I received 422 e-mail messages today - a lot of it was queued up
backlog), and things are back to normal again.
Since it has been awhile since I have sent along a post on sobriquets -
nicknames - I thought I would take today's message to offer a few more.
As you know, we tend to deal with the more unusual nicknames - the usual
ones - Ann for Nancy, Betsey for Elizabeth, Sallie for Sarah, etc. - most
of us are aware of these more common ones. Every now and then, however, we
may run into a nick that is *so* unusual that we take it to be an actual
given name. Those are the ones that I try to extract and bring to the List.
I am going to list a few nicks below, and then let you mull them over for a
day or two. I'll drop back around and give the actual given names which
attach to these nicks and you can see how well you did.
As is now customary, there will be no data posts tomorrow, or on the
weekend, but I will be back, not only with the given names for these nicks,
but also with the next segment of digitized page images from Graves County
Order Book G.
Until then............
