List, There was also the nickname "Mallie" for Mary. I had a gg grandmother
by the name of Mary Pauline Anderson Wade Davis. We knew she had gone by
Mary Pauline, but my mother was very confused when she looked at 1880 census
records. These were after Mary married her second husband, Nathan Lloyd
Davis. The 1880 Panola co.TX census had a woman named "Mallie" as the wife
of Nathan Lloyd Davis. My mother did not know that this was a nickname for
Mary and was thrown off track for several years, thinking that Nathan Lloyd
Davis had remarried.
