My friends -

Today we will return to Graves County and our review of the Vital
Statistics birth records in that County.

Before moving to that, however, our friend Carl Greenfield, who does our
archivist work for several counties in the KYGenWeb Project, has reminded
me that it has been awhile since I posted the URL for the website which
contains the information compiled several years ago by a Murray State
University team concerning the JP in the Civil War period. It is a good
site, and you can find it here:

We are picking up our review of the Graves VS birth records where we left
off, in the year 1857. Subscribers to the JP and Graves lists can obtain
the dataset for a birth shown in the listing below(which usually includes
the date of birth, the gender of the child if not obvious and the name of
the father and maiden name of the mother). Unfortunately, we continue to
have to deal with initials only in many cases. As always, your continuing
assistance in not resending this entire message back to me with the request
is greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow, we'll have some more early terminology.
