Subject: [KYJP] Marshall County - Vital Statistics Records - Births - 1852-1861 - Part 70 - Conclusion

My friends -

Today, we are completing one of our longest running series - the Marshall
County Vital Statistics birth records for the years 1852-1861. This is the
70th - and final - segment in that group. The Calloway County List is also
included in this mailing as there is an announcement pertaining to that
County later in this message.

Subscribers to the JP and Marshall lists can obtain the full dataset for a
marriage in the listing below by sending a request to me. These datasets
usually contain the date of birth, the gender of the child if not obvious,
and the name of the father and maiden name of the mother. Your continuing
assistance in not resending this entire message back to me with the request
is greatly appreciated.

I am now fully caught up on the requests for the Mayfield First Baptist
Church centennial history. If I missed anyone, please let me know. The huge
response to that offering leads me to believe more strongly that our
subscribers are interested in the history of these institutions in the JP
region and I will be particularly vigilant as we go along to try to bring
these sorts of things to the lists I host.

Our friend Kay Martin, who hosts one of the Martin lists, is engaging some
of the Martin descendants in a DNA project, and she has asked me to post
the URL for the website here for those descendants of the James
Martin/Priscilla Davis line that we have as subscribers on the JP and
Calloway lists. The URL is:

http://www.geocities.com/henrymartin_dna/index.htm

I should point out that I have no personal involvement, beyond that of a
natural interest in this new technology, in this project or its entities or
with the individuals who are sponsoring it. The mention of this project
should not be construed, either, as an invitation to begin discussing the
pros and cons of DNA testing relative to genealogy. There is an excellent,
and very active, RootsWeb based mail list dedicated to those sorts of
discussions.

Tomorrow, we will move over to McCracken County.
