Located in the southwestern part of Calloway County about a mile south of Southwest Elementary School is a cemetery named Old Concord. Families buried there include Cole, Douglas, Huie, Miller, Myers, Swann and Taylor. The history of Sinking Spring Church refers to a church named Concord Church being in the vicinity of this cemetery, but does not provide much detail. Apparently the church may have dissolved prior to the establishment of Sinking Spring Church and some of its members may have been instrumental in the establishment of Sinking Spring. Is there any information available that might provide some additional history on this Concord Church. The Calloway Cemetery book lists some 50 burials, but there appears to be many more depressions indicating graves.

My interest in this is that I believe a lady by the name of Elizabeth Smith/Smithe/Schmidt is buried there. She may be the sister to my Henry Cooper (5g gfather b. 1760-VA). She is listed in the 1850 census of Calloway County and alluded to in the 1840 Census of Calloway County. If this information is correct, she is the mother-in-law of John W. Myers, born abt 1782 in Pennsylvania (according to census) and moved to Calloway County from Montgomery County, KY, before 1840.

Any information is appreciated.
