My friends -

I had planned to move up to Marshall County for today's posting, but the
response to yesterday's posting in Graves County has been inordinately
large(even allowing for the normal response to Graves' postings, which is
usually larger in number than any other JP county), and I am still
responding to those requests, with another 60+ to answer. As a result, I
will postpone today's posting in order to insure that the remainder of
these replies go out today.

I do want to make our subscribers aware that there is a slight possibility
that a spam message that appears to be from some exiled official in an
African or other nation(most of us have probably seen these messages come
into our e-mail boxes over the past months - I get at least 10 per week),
asking for help in transferring large amounts of money, etc., could arrive
on the JP List. A few of these have made it through to some other lists. In
fact, two or three of them even appeared on the list to which list hosts
subscribe which is a conduit to RootsWeb. RootsWeb has extensive spam
filters, of course, but in the case of this message, it appears that a
human somewhere has been physically taking the time to actually subscribe
to RootsWeb lists and then send out this spam message. I am watching and
monitoring all new subscriptions to all of the 12 lists I host, and
hopefully, we will not see any of these spam messages appear, but if it
should occur, just delete the message. I will, of course, also see it and
will block whatever address sends it to prevent any further messages from
arriving - at least from that address.

Tomorrow, we will pick up the posting for Marshall Co.
