My friends -

I have now converted another of the "miscellaneous files" which I have on
the several hundred old 5 inch floppies that I mention from time to time.
This file is somewhat different from the usual ones that we have seen, in
that it contains abstracts of the biographies of 1885 Ballard County
residents contained in the Battle/Perrin/Kniffen work, "History of Kentucky
Illustrated, Edition I", for those residents who had *Tennessee
connections*. That is, if the individual was born in, raised in, travelled
through, lived in, married in, or otherwise had some connection with
Tennessee before coming to Ballard Co., he was included in these abstracts.

The abstracts contain the birth date, parents, grandparents, siblings,
military service, marriage(s) and children of the subject individual.

The individuals whose bios were abstracted and which are contained in the
file are as follows:

There are many other surnames contained in the file, due to the naming of
grandparents(some of whom are shown in the Revolutionary War or War of 1812).

Subscribers to the Ballard and JP Lists can obtain the file by sending a
request to me. Ask for the *Ballard Bio File*. The file is available in
rich text and Adobe PDF formats. The file will be sent as a rich text
attachment to an e-mail message unless PDF format is requested. The
complete file will be sent, as time constraints do not allow me to go into
the file and extract data about individual subjects. Due to its size, the
file *cannot* be sent in the message body of an e-mail
communication("straight e-mail")
