Dear List:

Finally, my elusive, MINNIE SNOW WEST date and place of death has been found by a member of the Henry County, Tennessee List!!! She died on November 6, 1952 in Paris, Henry County, Tennessee following a long illness. Her obit states that she had been living with her daughter, AUDIE MAY WEST WEBB for quite some time. As we already knew, she is buried at Maplewood Cemetery in Mayfield, Graves County, Kentucky.

As with all obits, they provide so much information and, of course, this one did that but also provided info that needs researching. Because I haven't been able to find MINNIE WEST and family on any 1900 census, I apparently missed two daughters on the 1910 census because they had already left home but they were mentioned in her obituary. I have already found the one daughter in Henry County but the other daughter, MRS. BERTHA BROWN, is shown as living in Murray, Kentucky. Would someone who has access to Calloway County Cemetery Records, please see if you show a BERTHA BROWN who was probably born 1887 - 1888.
