Malkie Gibson
Malkie Gibson, 83, of Milan, died Friday, July 8, 2005 at Indianapolis Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born April 17, 1922 in Hazard, KY., the daughter of Jason and Famy (Combs) Combs. She married Burley Gibson in November 1941 and he survives.
Other survivors include, four daughters, Joyce (Richard) Smith of Westport, Patty (Marvin) Ludeker of Milan, Jean (Scott) Prather of Versailles, Joan (John) Kuhlman of Batesville; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two brothers, Carley and Chatmam Combs and two sisters, Effie Chaffin and Esta Grigsby preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and drove a school bus for the Milan Community Schools for 12 years. She was a member of the Milan Electa Chapter Order of the Eastern Star having served as past Worthy Matron.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 11, 10 a.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Eastern Star services were held on Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial was in the Craven Cemetery, Milan. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or the Milan Fire Department.
