Connie Amburgey, 63, of Taylor, MI, died December 22, 2008. She was born in Hindman on September 25, 1945, to Marcus Amburgey and Cassie Campbell Amburgey.
She is survived by her son: Jon E. (Jeanette) Amburgey, brother: Marcus Leon (Sue) Amburgey; grandchildren: Jordan, Alicia and Jeremy and a Dear Friend: Mary Ann McDougal.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the Amburgey Cemetery at Hindman under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

BOBBY LEE BEAVER

Bobby Lee Beaver, age 60, of Dwarf, died December 22, 2008 at the Hazard ARMC. He was born in Perry County on April 6, 1948, to James M. Beaver and Rachel Couch Beaver.
He was preceded in death by mother: Rachel; 1 brother: Robert Beaver.
He is survived by wife: Betty Beaver; father: James Beaver; sons: Bobby Lee Beaver Jr. (Sharon), Christopher Lee Combs (Melanie); daughters: Tracey Ann Bowling (Arthur Ritchie) and Patricia LeAnne Combs (Bert Wayne); brothers: Danny Ray Beaver (Loretta) and Gary Glenn Beaver; sisters: Katherine Jean Beaver and Carol Mille (James); grandchildren: Tracey Danielle Lee Beaver, David Patrick Cleveland Beaver, Jesse James Combs, Cody Lee Thompson, Cole Joseph Thompson, Matthew LeeRay Ritchie, Alyssa Rhae Lynn Combs; host of nieces and nephews; special friends: LeRoy Fugate, Terry Hurley, EJ Cornett and Donald Fugate.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at the Dwarf Baptist Church with Randy Combs officiating. Burial followed at the Engle Cemetery at Dwarf under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

JACK C. CORNETT

Jack C. Cornett, age 80, of Florence, KY, formerly of Knott County, died Monday, December 15, 2008, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Ky. He was born in Knott County on April 6, 1928, to John Wess Cornett and Greta Smith Cornett.
He is survived by his wife: Verna Mae Cornett and 3 children: Dave, Doug and Diane.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Mike Caudill officiating. Burial followed at the Mountain Memory Gardens under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

STANLEY EVERIDGE

Stanley Everidge, 79, of Pinetop, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at his home. He was born in Pinetop, on October 11, 1929, to Sidney Everidge and Dessie Franklin Everidge.

Ronnie Martin, age 52, of Hindman, formerly of Dema, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, at the Hazard ARMC. He was born in Dema on May 20, 1956, to Berlin and Marie Slone Martin.
He is survived by brothers and sisters: Berleen (Jack) Bowser, Sandra (Harles) Gibson, Karen (Jim) Jones, Jewell (Ken) Blair, William James (Gwen) Martin, Ernest Eugene (Nella F.) Martin, Larry Martin, Harold Ray Martin, Madison (Sharon) Martin and Eddie (Sharon) Martin; host of nieces and nephews; special caregiver: Karen Calhoun.

VIRGINIA "JENNY" RESTAURI

Virginia "Jenny" Restauri, 74, of Lexington, formerly of Larkslane, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008. She was born in Larkslane on July 4, 1934 to the late Pearl and Alpha Sturgill.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Restauri, married for 55 years, 3 daughters, Deborah Restauri, Jane (Carryl) Crawford and Susan (Scott) Lepthien, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; sisters: Grayce Cox Chinn and Francis Fink.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Restauri, sisters: Anna Jean Tackett and Opal Sturgill; brothers: Gordon and Jim Sturgill.
Graveside services for Virginia Restauri were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Campbell Cemetery at Mousie, under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Bluegrass.

MABLE LEE RITCHIE

Mable Lee Ritchie, age 67, of Bulan, died December 22, 2008 at the Hazard ARMC. She was born in Morgan County, on May 6, 1941, to Oak Taulbee and Heddie Crase.
She is survived by ex-husband: Archie Ritchie; daughter: Diane (Carter) Beverly; grandsons: Arnold and Amos Beverly; brothers and sisters: Mayo Taulbee, Leo Taulbee, Betty Jean Elam, Magalene Inmon and Grace Brewer; special sister-in-law: Virginia Crase; special nephew: Robert Crase.
Preceded in death by father: Oak Taulbee; mother: Heddie Crase; foster father and mother: Mort and Jane Crase; brothers: Leonard, Lester, Jim and Chester.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2008, at the Tribbey Church of God with Karen Campbell and Johnny Ambrose officiating. Burial followed at the Beverly Cemetery at Elmrock under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

DANA MUNN

Dana Munn, age 91, passed away peacefully December 25, 2008, at the St. John's Lutheran Center in Billings, MT. Dana was born August 14, 1917 in Mallie, KY, the eldest child of Jasper Howard and Della Jones Howard.
As a young woman, Dana attended the Hindman Settlement School. She married Elbert Williams on January 5, 1935. Their union was blessed by the birth of 2 sons, Rayford and Douglas. Dana later married William Isaac (Ike) Munn on August 15, 1952. For much of her life Dana worked as a waitress in Lexington, KY and was especially proud to have known and worked with Colonel Harlan Sanders. She retired from Howard Johnson's on North Broadway in 1982. In 1991 she went to live with her son, Doug and his wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her beloved brother, Bill Howard.
She is survived by sons Rayford (Ann) of Willits, CA and Doug (Tina) of Billings, MT, and three generations of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dana will be returning home to Mallie. Services will be Friday January 2, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel in Hindman. Interment will be at the Howard Cemetery in Mallie. An informal celebration of Dana's life will be held in Lexington at the home of her grandson, Billy D. Williams, and his mother Sharon, 403 Westerfield Way, on Sunday January 4, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the St. John's Lutheran Center, 3940 Rimrock Road, Billings, Mt 59102.

GARY LEEALAN SLONE

Gary Leealan Slone, age 22 of Hazard, passed away December 24, 2008, at Jacksonville, Florida. He was born August 24, 1986 at Prestonsburg, the son of Gary Slone and Mardella (Rick) Maronski. He was in the U.S. Army National Guard Reserve.
He is survived by 1 sister: Cristina (Matt) Wagner of Tallahassee, Florida; 2 brothers: Michael Maronski & Nicholas Maronski both of Jacksonville, Florida; 1 niece: Gwyneth Wagner; 9 uncles: Dirk Slone, Rodney (Lisa) Slone, Kerney (Kathy) Slone, Danny (Marsha) Slone, Sammy (Melanie) Slone, Gil Slone, Paul (Megan) Slone, Joshua (Sonya) Slone & Larry (Debbie) Slone; 3 aunts: Susan (Greg) Stacy, Deborah Reyneke & Saundra (Doug) Mann; paternal grandfather: Clifford Slone; a host of family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; paternal grandmother: Joyce Slone; uncle: Gregory Slone.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home at Hindman with Eugene Thacker, Jamie Hughes & other officiating. Burial followed at the Thacker Slone Cemetery at Slone Fork of Garner, under the direction of the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home of Hindman, Kentucky.
