Keenan Wynn Fields, age 49, of Pippa Passes, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011, at the Greg Wells Hospice Center at Hazard. He was born in Berea, Ohio on July 1, 1962, to Elmer Fields and Christeana Honeycutt Fields.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother - John and 2 Sisters - Francecelia and Marcella.
He is survived by his wife: Sondra Sparkman Fields; mother-in-law: Ogie Sparkman; daughters: Cortney (Rob) Caudill, Kendra (Tyler) Sandlin and Cassondra Morton; brother: Don Fields; sister: Tracey (William) Reedy; sister-in-law: Linda Fields; brothers-in-law: Irton (Sheryl) Sparkman and Kenneth Williams; 6 grandchildren: Mason, Aaron, Madison, Wyatt, Landon and Tyson; host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel with Ronnie Robinson and Roy Slone officiating. Burial will follow at the Delza Sparkman Cemetery at Pippa Passes under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

Knova Honeycutt

Knova Honeycutt, age 80, of Pinetop, passed away August 2, 2011, at the UK Medical Center at Lexington. He was born in Knott County on April 2, 1931, to Wilburn Honeycutt and Melvina Sexton Honeycutt.
He is survived by sons: Johnny (Deb) Honeycutt, James Arthur Honeycutt and Johnny Honeycutt; daughters: Loretta (Marty Ray) Pigman, Joann (James) Slone, Samantha (Bobby) Lowe, Melvina (Bill) Hensley and Kathy Honeycutt; brother: George (Tick) Sexton; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Omaha Bible Church with LC Slone officiating. Burial followed at the Honeycutt Family Cemetery at Pinetop under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.

Delores Slone Miller

Delores Slone Miller, age 45 of Hindman, passed away August 5, 2011, at the Hazard ARH. She was born February 1, 1966, in Kendallville, Indiana, the daughter of Jeanetta Gibson Slone & the late Coshel Slone. She was a home-maker and the wife of the late Thomas Miller.
She is survived by 1 son: Thomas (Tena) Miller of Hindman; 2 daughters: Donna (Evan) Gross & Kajen Miller both of Hindman; 3 sisters: Shirley Slabaugh, Marie Cornett & Mary Ann Slone all of Hindman; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Evanna Gross, Mikaela Kennedy Delores Gross, John & Keaton Caudill & Jacob Mackinley Caudill; Special Friend: Denzil Gayheart; Mother-in-law June Miller.
She was preceded in death by her father; 1 brother: Paul David Slone; father-in-law: Elbert Miller.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Lighthouse Community Church at Colson with Glen Gross, Bill Kirby & Randy Combs officiating. Burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery at Whitesburg under the direction of the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home Chapel at Hindman.

Helen Pigman, age 74 of Garner, passed away August 7, 2011, at the Hazard ARH. She was born January 24, 1937, in Knott County, the daughter of the late Burnam & Shannon Bailey Gayheart. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Charles Pigman.
She is survived by 1 son: Keith (Beulah) Pigman of Garner; 2 sisters: Mary Stewart of Hindman & Louise hart of Newport News, VA; 3 grandchildren: Keila, Kelsey & Keegan Pigman; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Friends & Family.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Pigman; parents: Burnam & Shannon Bailey Gayheart; 1 daughter: Keila Pigman; 4 brothers; Burnam, Elmer, Richard & Forrest Gayheart; 2 sisters: Audrey Bradley, Geneva Cochran.

She is survived by her husband: Kermit Smith; sons: Randall Smith and Michael (Carol) Smith; daughters: Tammy (David) Webb and Sheila (Bill) Olson; brothers: Paul and Victor Triplett; sisters: Janice Lackey and Betty Thornsberry; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews.

Veda N. Hamilton

Veda N. Hamilton, age 90, of McDowell, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011, at the McDowell ARH,. She was born August 12, 1920, in McDowell, a daughter of the late Birt and Fannie Vanderpool Newman. She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church (Indian Bottom Association).
She is survived by two sons; Billy F. Hamilton and Curtis Hamilton, both of McDowell, and 1 daughter; Gilva (Paul) Horn, Prestonsburg, KY; 2 brothers; Earl B. (Billie) Newman, Steffner, FL., and Curt (Jan) Newman, Martin, KY., three sisters; Violet Newman, The Village, FL., Mary T. Hamilton, Ashtabula, OH., and Maxie (Jonas) Hollan, Beattyville, KY., six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in the Lord, neighbors and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Hent and Harold Newman and 1 sister; Edna Brown.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel under the kind and professional care of the Hall Funeral Home at Martin.

Paul Kilburn, age 52 of Martin, passed away July 29, 2011, at the Hazard Hospice Center. He was born April 3, 1959, in Martin, the son of Inez Yates Kilburn of Prestonsburg and the late Arthur Kilburn. He was a Disabled Coal Miner and the husband of Debra Hamilton Kilburn.
He is survived by 2 sons: Christopher (Terissa) Lawson of Martin and Paul David (Kelli) Kilburn of Garrett; 1 daughter: Inez Renee Coronna of Marion, OH; 3 brothers: Arthur (Lisa) Kilburn Jr. of Paintsville, Hardy (Shelia) Kilburn of TN and Marion Kilburn of Martin; 1 sister: Martha (Randy) Carroll of Prestonsburg; 8 grandchildren: Antonia, Alicia, Juan, Christopher, Tyler, Brady, MiLeigh and Abbigail and a special friend: Joe Patton of Martin

Butler Evans, age 85 of Grethel, passed away August 2, 2011, at home. He was born August 13, 1925, the son of the late Charlie Evans and Arminnie Howell Evans. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Old Beaver Old Regular Baptist Church, a U.S. veteran, and the husband of Ethel Hamilton Evans.
He is survived by 1 son: Charler Ray (Delores) Evans; 2 daughters: Ella Ruth (Acie) Tackett and Ruby Jean (Foster) Tackett, all of Grethel; 1 brother: Kennis Evans of Grethel; 1 sister: Hazel Hamilton of Grethel.
