FRANK MILLS, 75, of Heidrick, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at his
home. He was the son of the late Ike and Fannie (Smith) Mills. On December 23,
1943, he was united in marriage to Ardiana Broughton. He was a retired coal
miner Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tip Smith and Owen Smith officiating.
Burial followed in the Broughton Cemetery on Road Fork. Hampton Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
DORMAN HELTON, 68, of Woodbine, passed away Thursday, February 11, 1999 in the
Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. Survivors include his wife, Sue
Helton of Woodbine. Funeral services were held in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel
on Sunday, February 14 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Damon Helton officiating.
Burial followed in the Elliott Cemetery. Hart Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
EARL G. MAYS, 95, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday, February 13, 1999 in
the Knox County Hospital. He was the son of the late Duke Mays and Martha Jane
Cotton Mays and was the husband of the late Ina May Mays. Funeral services
were held in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 16 at 1 p.m.
with the Revs. Eugene Mays, H.B. Harris, and John Clark officiating. Burial
followed in the Jones Cemetery. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
BOWLEN "Bunt" VALENTINE, 77, of Heidrick, passed away Friday, February 12,
1999 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. He was the son of the
late Dan and Ollie (Pickard) Valentine and was the husband of Josephine Crain
Valentine. He was veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW. Survivors include
his wife, Josephine Crain Valentine of Heidrick. Funeral services were held in
the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 14 at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
Jeffrey Branum officiating. Burial followed in the Patterson Cemetery .
Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
ALYSSA DANIELLE HENSLEY, 2 months, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, February
10, 1999 in the Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daughter
of Gayle Haggerty. Survivors include her mother, Gayle Haggerty of Newport.
Funeral services were held in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday
February 13 at 10 a.m. with the Revs. John Payne and Bill Wolfe officiating.
Burial followed in the Goodin Cemetery at Goodin Branch. Hampton Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
MYRTLE ORPHA MCDONALD YEAGER, 69, of Heidrick, passed away Friday, February
12, 1999 in the Knox County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Judd
McDonald and Lucy Overbay McDonald and was the wife of Joe Yeager of Heidrick.
Funeral services were held in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel on Monday,
February 15 at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Vernon Morris and Bobby Abner
officiating. Burial followed in the Trace Branch Community Cemetery. Hopper
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
WILLIE HUFF, 93, of Corbin, passed away Friday, February 12, 1999 at the
Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. She was the widow of Finley Huff.
Funeral services were held in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel on Monday February
15 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating. Burial followed in the
Brafford Cemetery at Gray. Hart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
MAE WILLIAMS, 94, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Knox County passed away
Friday February 12, 1999 at the Tri- County Extended Care in Hamilton. She was
the daughter of the late Byrd and Susan (Fore) Helton and the wife of the late
Clyde WilliamsFuneral services were held in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel on
Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Damon Helton officiating. Burial
followed in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily. Hart Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
S.F. JOHNSON, 55, of Acworth, Ga., passed away Thursday, February 11, 1999 in
Savannah, Ga. He was the son of the late Martin and Cora Warren Johnson. He
was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie
Strong Johnson of Acworth, Funeral services were held in the chapel of the
Corbin Funeral Home in Corbin Monday, February 15 at 1 p.m. with the Revs.
Claude Medlin and S.F. Trosper officiating. Burial followed in the Farris
Cemetery. This is a courtesy announcement from the Knox Funeral Home.
IRENE WILLIAMSON WARREN, 85, of Troy, Michigan, formerly of Knox County,
passed away Friday, February 12, 1999 in Troy, Mich. She was the daughter of
the late Judge Jim Tom Williamson and Bessie Manning Williamson. She was a
former teacher in Knox County as well as in Michigan. Funeral services were
held in the chapel of the A.J. Desmond and Sons Funeral Home in Troy, Mich. on
Monday February 15 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Benjamin Bishop officiating.
Burial followed in the White Chapel Cemetery. This is a courtesy announcement
