Dear Mary Owen Hart,

We (four of us) were not sure if we connect to the Edward Owens family or not. It is something we are checking into. The Edward Owens Will I typed in my post was sent to me in an e-mail.

The Washington Owens that you mentioned lived on Indian Creek is our Owens family. The oldest Washington Owens you mentioned is the father of the Reuben and Samuel that were his neighbors. Reuben Owens was married to Frances 'Fannie' Hatfield. This Reuben and Fannie Owens were the parents of Washington Owens (b Abt. 1838). Samuel Owens was married to Lucinda Comstock on Nov 8, 1824, Knox County.

When it comes to the marriage records shown in the Knox Co. Marriage Book A showing:

John Owens to JANE PRATT on May 11, 1822 by M. Foley,
William Owens to SALLY MUNCY on Feb 11, 1828 by B. Hopper w/Samuel Owens, Bondsman

I had never seen the listing of a marriage for William Owens and Sally Muncy before now!

The information shown from a book copied by the DAR shows that:

John Owens to JANE WYATT, on May 11, 1822
William Owens to SALLY BUNCH on Feb 11, 1828, Samuel Owens bondsman

The William Owens that is shown married to Sally Bunch is my 4 g-grandfather.

I do not have a copy of the actual marriage records for William Owens to Sally Bunch. I REALLY AM CONFUSED! I will ask the other three I am working with to see if they have an actual copy.

I do have some information about the Descendants of Washington Owens (that was born about 1775 - 1780) on my genealogy web page. The Owens information is at: http://members.xoom.com/pasmith/owens.htm

Thank you for writing this post!

Patti
