TRUMAN MOSES, 52, Highway 92W, Williamsburg, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002
at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He is survived by a son, Shannon Moses of Williamsburg; one grandson, Shawn;
mother, Ruth Moses of Williamsburg; ten brothers and sisters, Theodore Moses
and wife, Edna of Williamsburg, Shirley Moses and wife, Estell of Waynesboro,
Georgia, Kermit Moses and wife, Wendy of Illinois, Felix Moses and wife,
Margie of Pine Knot, Andrew Moses and wife, Barbara of Williamsburg, Matilda
Moses Cox of Williamsburg, Rommell and Aretta Moses of Williamsburg, Flonnie
Moses of Williamsburg, Carolyn Moses of Williamsburg, Carl Moses and wife,
Brenda, of Williamsburg; special friend, Sue Allen of Williamsburg; best
friend, Leroy Bunch of Corbin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8 at the Ellison
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Lester officiating. Graveside military
services will follow at the Jellico Creek Cemetery by Whitley County JROTC.

DOYLE GILBERT, 68, Williamsburg, passed away Friday morning, May 3, 2002 at
the Baptist Regional Medical Center, Corbin.
He was a deacon of First Baptist Church; treasurer of First Baptist Church
for 17 years; Director of Land Development-Management; Director of Auxiliary
Services for Cumberland Lodge & Museum; Business Manager; Lead Project
Manager of Campus Development for the past ten years. Honorary alumni of
Cumberland College. He dedicated his life to his family, his church and
Cumberland College. He believed in strong family values and a dedicated work
ethic.
Survivors include his wife, Jolene Gilbert of Williamsburg; one daughter,
Kimberly Gilbert of Clinton, Tennessee; four sons, Kyle Gilbert of
Williamsburg, Kevin Gilbert and wife, Joy of Nicholasville, Kenneth Gilbert
of Mountain City, Tennessee and Keith Gilbert and wife, Sherri of Lexington;
five grandchildren, Lindsay Tyson Gilbert, Jesseman Blair Gilbert, Chandler
Keith Gilbert, Madison Shae Gilbert, and Hannah Cheyene Gilbert; one brother,
Lowell Gilbert of London; one sister, Joyce Yaden of London; also several
nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his
passing.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 6 at the First Baptist Church with Dr.
Harold Mauney, Rev. Kevin Roberts and Dr. James Taylor officiating. Burial
was in the Highland Park Cemetery (Croley Addition).

WILLIAM EMERSON PEACE, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2002 in
Gainesville, Florida where he had resided since 1984. A native of Corbin, he
was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lillian Peace. He lived in
Lexington from 1955 until 1984 where he was employed as a salesman with
various food brokerage firms.
He is survived by a daughter, Rosanna L. Peace of Lexington; a son, William
B. Peace of Atlanta, Georgia; and two grandsons, Elliott Emerson Peace and H.
Willingham Peace, both of Atlanta, Georgia. He also leaves his companion of
many years, Edna Setser Greif of Gainesville, Florida.
A graveside service was held Sunday, May 5 at the Highland Cemetery in
Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes
Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720.

LESTER "Hoytt" SMITH, 72, Henry Barton Road, Corbin, passed away Friday
morning, May 3, 2002 at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Ethel Smith of Henry Barton Road, Corbin;
four daughters, Dora Ellen Lawson of Williamsburg, Doris Lynn Byrd and
husband, Joe of Williamsburg, Anna Sue Reed and husband, Rob of Williamsburg
and Sheila Dawn Burt and husband, Royce of Middleburg, Florida; three sons,
James Lester Smith and wife, Sue of Stuart, Florida, Garey Smith and wife,
Sandy of Bermuda Dunes, California and Paul David Smith and wife, Janie of
Williamsburg; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; his mother, Della
Smith of Williamsburg; four brothers, Hesco Smith of Williamsburg, Howard
Smith of Williamsburg, Keith Smith of Williamsburg and Kevin Smith of
Williamsburg; six sisters, Gail Hall of Corbin, Ethel Mitchell of Florida,
Jan Hamblin of Florida, Fran Myers of Florida, Madge McKeehan of Corbin, and
Irma Roark of Williamsburg; also several nieces, nephews, and a host of other
relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Smith.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 5 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Darrell Hurst officiating. Burial was in the Cumberland Freewill
Church Cemetery.

INEZ HAWKINS COX, 75, Williamsburg, formerly of Clarkson, passed away Monday
afternoon, April 29, 2002 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in
Lexington.
Survivors include nine children, Susie Damron of Williamsburg, Alan Cox of
Williamsburg, Leon Cox of Maysville, Jerry Cox of Big Clifty, Roselind Cox of
Texas, Vickie Barnes of London, June Keown of Kings Mountain, North Carolina,
Robin Cox of Clarkson and Sylvia Mabe of Munfordsville; 20 grandchildren and
several great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends
to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Cox; a son, Billy Cox;
and her parents, Walter and Bessie Hawkins.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 2 at the Rogers-Oller Funeral Home
in Clarkson with Bro. Craig Bratcher officiating. Burial was in the Eastview
Cemetery in Hardin Co.

GLENDA KAY CANADY, 47, Williamsburg, passed away at the Jellico Community
Hospital in Jellico, Tennessee. She is survived by her daughter, Amber
Canady, of Williamsburg.
Funeral services were held May 6 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Harold Long officiating. Burial was in the Emlyn Cemetery by Ellison Funeral
Home.
FOISTER SHELTON, 78, Jacksboro, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2002
at the Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. His wife, Onilda
(Patsy) Shelton, survives.
Funeral services were held May 5 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Charles Noss and Rev. Thelmo Cox officiating. Interment was in the
Douglas Cemetery by Cox & Son Funeral Home.
ALBERT COPLEY, 73, Lily, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2002 at his residence.
He was the brother of Edith Smith of Lily.
Funeral services were held May 5 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Ronnie Ball and Rev. Claude Gilbert officiating. Burial was in the McHargue
Cemetery by the Hart Funeral Home.
JAMES STERLING DAVIS, 67, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Thursday,
April 25, 2002 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He was the husband
of June Rose Davis.
Funeral services were held April 29 at the Vorhis Funeral Home Chapel in
Norwood, Ohio. Interment was in the Silver Creek Cemetery, Jamestown, Ohio.

IMOGENE SKEEN POWERS, 71, formerly of Corbin, passed away Monday, April 29,
2002 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Deluth, Georgia.
Funeral services were held May 3 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was
in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens by the Hart Funeral Home.
J. S. IVEY, 74, of the Black Oak Community, passed away Tuesday, April 30,
2002 at the Jellico Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held May 3 at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Billy Carpenter officiating. Burial was in the Huddleston Cemetery by Harp
Funeral Home.
RALPH EUGENE VANN, 66, London, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at the
Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Funeral services were held May 4 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Tommy Lanham officiating. Burial was in the Ball Cemetery by Hart Funeral
Home.
DELIA ANN JOHNSON, 47, Corbin, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002 at her
residence. She was the daughter of Georgia Bowman of Corbin.
Funeral services were held May 7 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Darvin Wells and Rev. Dorsey King officiating. Burial was in the Corinth
Cemetery by Hart Funeral Home.
