DIXIE L.CAMPBELL , 74, Highway 92 East, Williamsburg, passed away Thursday,
May 23, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Roscoe Cox of Williamsburg; two daughters,
Margie Claxton of Williamsburg and Mary Hill of Williamsburg; seven
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one
brother, James Lawson of Bean Station, Tennessee; two sisters, Joann McVay
Edwards and husband, Robert of Corbin and Barbara Thomas and husband, Willard
of Bean Station, Tennessee; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 26 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Billy Carpenter officiating. Burial was in the Cox Cemetery at
Redbird.

MILDRED DAVIS MAYS, 82, Emlyn, passed away Monday, May 20, 2002 at the East
Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Mays; two sons, Jessie Mays
and Lawrence "Red" Mays; and three sisters, Christine Johnson, Joyce Davis
and Carolyn Bowlin.
Survivors include three sons, Harvey Joe "Ray" Mays and wife, Evelyn of
Monticello, Bobby K. Mays and wife, Freda of Pleasant Run and John R. Mays of
Ablion, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one
daughter-in-law, Carolyn Mays of Williamsburg; three sisters, Opal Strunk of
Jellico, Tennessee, Minnie Lawson of Detroit, Michigan and Betty Huddleston
of Williamsburg; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 23 at the Emlyn Church of God with
Rev. Harold Long officiating. Burial was in the Whitley Memorial Gardens.

ANZIE MARIE LAWSON LOVITT, 78, Corbin, passed away Thursday morning, May 23,
2002 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center, Corbin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Lovitt.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Lovitt Hunter and husband, James of
Nashville, Tennessee; two sons, Larry Lovitt and wife, Maria of Duff,
Tennessee and Fred Lovitt and wife, Norma of Williamsburg; grandchildren,
Neal and Vanessa Dexter, Manson and Heather Sluss, Andrew and Heather Perry,
James Lovitt, Tabatha Lovitt, Allen Lovitt, Amber Nash, Rose Perry, Lee
Perry, Larry Lovitt II, Craig and Amy Lunsford, and Andrew and Melissa
Alberteni; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Thomas of Tyler,
Texas and Essie Leach of LaFollette, Tennessee; as well as a host of other
relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 26 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Neal Dexter officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery.

THELMA NADINE FAULKNER, 69, Bronston, formerly of Nevisdale, passed away
Wednesday afternoon, May 22, 2002 at the Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset.
She was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Somerset.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Faulkner of Bronston; two sons, Albert
A. Faulkner of Lebanon, Ohio and Olaf Howard Faulkner Jr. of Mason, Ohio;
seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Jousha, Jordan, Jeffrey, Shannon and
Christina; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Brock; her father-in-law and
mother-in-law, Andy and Dorothy Faulkner of the Patterson Creek Community,
Williamsburg; three sisters, Barbara Beckelhimer of Mason, Ohio, Mossie Neale
of Mason, Ohio and Fleda Hacker of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, John Rains of
Hillsboro, Ohio; also several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives
and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Rains and Nora Mae Siler
Rains.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Arnold Petrey and Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial was in the
Faulkner Cemetery, Highway 904, Williamsburg.

GARY LEE JONES, 50, Williamsburg, passed away Monday, May 20, 2002 at his
residence.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Barton Jones of Williamsburg; his mother,
Nora Ellen Jones of Briar Creek Road, Williamsburg; two brothers, William
Larry Jones of Rockholds and David Jones of Williamsburg; six nephews, Calvin
Jones and Joseph Jones of Rockholds, Tony Barton and Tim Barton of Corbin and
Larry Barton and Brandon Barton of Williamsburg; one aunt, Olenuel Croley of
Highway 92 East, Williamsburg; and three uncles, Kenneth Wilson, Hwy. 904,
Williamsburg, Ed Jones of Rockholds and J.P. Croley of Hwy. 92 East,
Williamsburg. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends to mourn
his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Charley Jones on June 21,
2001.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 24 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. George Peace and Rev. Lee Mahan officiating. Burial was in the
Whitley Memorial Gardens.

DOROTHY ALLEN, 86, Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 22,
2002 at her home.
She was a member of the Upper Briar Creek Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Dianna Davis and husband, Eugene of
Bronston, Ruth Bartle and husband, Rolland of Cincinnati, Ohio and Verna
Kilgore and husband, Emmitt of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Bruce Allen and
wife, Brenda of Whitley City and Doyal Stephens of Dry Ridge; 16
grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren;
one brother, Ray Stephens of Williamsburg; as well as a host of other
relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25 at the Jellico Creek Baptist
Church with Rev. Elmer Parks and Rev. Harold Long officiating. Burial was in
the Jellico Creek Cemetery.

PAUL PHILLIP BRABHAM 76, Jackson County, formerly of Williamsburg, passed
away Wednesday afternoon, May 22, 2002 at his home.
He was Fifth District Commander of D.A.V. and member of V.F.W. Post 3167.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Egger Branham of Williamsburg; six
daughters, Lisa Branham of Woodstock, Georgia, Jeannie Branham of Woodstock,
Georgia, Marlene McCullars of Canton, Georgia, Cathy Marinkovic of Round Lake
Beach, Illinois, Linda Branham of Illinois and Dorothy Lou Branham of
Illinois; one son, Michael Branham of California; several grandchildren and
several great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Moore of the Buffalo
Community, Corbin; three brothers, Roy James Branham of Williamsburg, Kenneth
L. Branham of Williamsburg and Glennis Branham of Williamsburg; several
nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his
passing.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Branham, Jr.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Robert Caddell officiating. Burial was in the Jellico Creek
Cemetery.
Military graveside services were conducted by the Jackson County D.A.V.,
Chapter 165.

VIVIAN SILER DELPH, 79, Williamsburg, passed away Friday, May 24, 2002 at the
Beech Tree Manor, Jellico, Tennessee. She was the wife of the late Stanley
Delph.
Funeral services were held May 27 at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
William H. Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Resthaven Cemetery by the
Hart Funeral Home.

LAWRENCE WALLS, Sr., 69, Jellico, Tennessee passed away Friday, May 24, 2002
at the Jellico Community Hospital. His wife, Connie McCullough Walls,
survives.
Funeral services were held May 28 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Jerry Yancey officiating. Interment was in the Cumberland Memorial
Gardens by Cox & Son Funeral Home.

WILMA LOIS PERKINS, 65, Duff, Tennessee, passed away Monday, May 20, 2002 at
the Jellico Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held May 22 at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Clyde
Davis and Rev. Ray Graham officiating. Burial was in the Campbell-Bolton
Cemetery by Harp Funeral Home.

Rev. JOHN B. OVERTON, 80, formerly of Jellico, Tennessee, passed away Sunday,
May 19, 2002 at the Riverside Mercy Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. His wife, Eudena
Faulkner Overton of Toledo survives.
Funeral services were held May 23 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Roger Stanley and Rev. Ellis Hoskins officiating. Interment was in the
Lot Cemetery by Cox & Son Funeral Home.

LEONARD WAYNE ELLIOTT, 59, Corbin, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at his
residence. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Campbell Elliott.
Funeral services were held May 24 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Herschel Walker and Rev. Jerry Loudermilk officiating. Burial was
in the Gray Cemetery by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

CAROLYN BOWLIN, 56, Red Hill, passed away Monday, May 20, 2002 at the Jellico
Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held May 23 at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Horace Partin officiating. Burial was in the Worley Cemetery by Harp Funeral
Home
