while someone is asking about Heltons (Hilton) I wondered if anyone has ever
figured out what became of John Hilton husband of barbara Barton. If my memory
serves me correctly (lately i can`t count on it)
He is in the household in 1860 but absent by 1870. Civil war maybe?
I`ve never heard any theories os to his absence and everyone sort of ignores
that 3 or 4 more children were born after his absence, including my great
grandmother, america dugger who always called herself "Dugger" but was said to
have actually been the dau. of a "thomas Man" probably jobe Thomas of yancey co.
