MAPLESVILLE
Mr. John Metcalf lost a fine Jersey cow last week, which he had refused fifty
dollars for.
Mr. George Moore is the happy possessor of a handsome team of grays.
Mr. Albert Evans is building a blacksmith shop in town and says he is going to
work at hard times prices.
LOCAL ITEMS
BORN-To the wife of Mr. W.A. Brown, of the western part of this county, last
Saturday evening a boy weight 13 pounds. This is Mr. Brown's first boy and he
is the happiest man imaginable.
Miss Mary Green, of East Bernstadt, is visiting Miss Mollie Riley.
MARRIED-Tuesday afternoon, at the residence of the bride's father six miles
north of London, by Eld. R.L. Ewell, Mr. J.V. Lovelace to Miss Maggie Bryant,
daughter of Capt. William Bryant. May the future have great stores of success
for this happy couple, thus made one.
Christmas will be appropriately celebrated at the Swiss church Sunday
afternoon. All are invited. The Swiss people never fail to entertain those
who attend their services.

DIED-Lizzie, wife of James Pigg and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Phillips, at
the residence of her husband on Raccoon creek, Saturday Dec. 19, 1896. The
bereaved husband and three little orphans have the sympathy of the entire
community. Those who knew her best appreciated her most. She was 29 years, 2
months and 8 days old.
