Laurel County was formed from Whitley, Knox, Clay and Rockcastle Counties
in 1826.

Jackson Co. was formed from part from Laurel Co. in 1858, as well as from
Rockcastle, Owsley, Madison, Clay, Estil

Jackson is the only County I know that formed from Laruel Co.
