Hey everyone!
Anyone visiting the Lawrence County site lately has probably been wondering
what has happened to the obit, deed, pension, will and bio boards. Well,
they are no longer existent. All the boards are now combined into one
message board that you will find by following the QUERIES link. This change
is not a decision of mine, nor Deanna's, but rather is the result of a
merger between Rootsweb and Ancestry.com
It has taken me sometime to figure out how the new message system works, adn
I am still not sure if I fully understand it. I will pass along a few tips
that I have learned in the hopes it will make the whole process easier for
you of you.
First thing, you must have a user name adn password in order to make a
posting to the list.
Secondly, when sending your post, you will be asked to select a category
suitable to your posting, such as query, cemetery, obit, etc.
Third, when trying to view specific postings, such as obits, I suggest
typing OBITUARY in the search field for "this board only". This will bring
up all obits posted to our board.
Personally, I would much rather have the old GenConnect boards, as I feel
they were much more user friendly. I hope that this new system will be easy
to adjust too. If not, I will be on the lookout for another option for us
to use.
