50 years ago (1947)
Misses Gwendy and Elizabeth Dieterich left this afternoon for Chicago to
attend the annual National Convention of the Florists Telegraph Delivery
Association.
100 years ago (1897)
On Sept. 18 a meeting will be held in Portsmouth, Ohio for old soldiers
from Southern Ohio,Northern Kentucky and West Va. for the purpose of
formulating plans to secure from Congress a more just and liberal
treatment of soldiers, especially the aged and infirm.
