Tom Burket --- I live in Logan County, Kentucky now, but I grew up
just across the line in Robertson County, Tennessee. There are several
Barbee families in that county, and my late mother told me that they
were distant relatives. I think one of them, whose first name might
have been Claude, was the owner of a grain elevator at Orlinda. I wish
I had more information to share with you, but maybe a little clue can
help.
My mother.s maiden name was Hash, and we have relatives by that
name in the Virginia county you mentioned, and throughout Virginia,
with the biggest group probably in Grayson County.
