Does anyone out there have a will signed by Charles m. Gibbons from either
Mason or Bracken County? I do not know when he died. Perhaps if it was
before the Civil War it named slaves. I have one ancestor who was a slave of
Charles m. Gibbons.
Her name was Caroline Penn, she was married to Oscar Daniel Banks in 1848 at
the farm of Charlie Gibbons. Caroline's husband was shot and killed during
an ambush near Kinsel Springs, TN in 1864. He was in the USCT. At the time
he went to war he was owned by John H. Walton. In 1866 she married James
Burbridge. If anyone has information on any of these families let me know.
