Dear Researchers of Mason County, Kentucky,

Kathy Hines of Minnesota has expressed an interest in the BRAMELs of
Mason County. I, too, am interested in the
BRAMEL/BRAMMEL/BRAMMAL/BRAMHALLs, and here's why:

James Abner BRAMEL was enumerated in the 1900 Census of Orangeburg,
Mason County, Kentucky, Enumeration District 100, Sheet 3, Line 88,
Dwellinghouse 55.

James A. BRAMEL was 51 years old [born Dec 1848 in Maryland]. He had
been married to Allis [Alice?] for fifteen years. Allis was 33 [born Dec
1866]. She had given birth to four children. They were: Pearce, 14;
Grover, 12; Ennek[?], 10; and Mary K., 7. James A. BRAMEL's father was
born in Maryland and his mother was born in Kentucky.

In James A. BRAMEL's home was a boarder, William COOPER. William COOPER
was a widower, 78 years old, born Jan 1822 in Kentucky[?]. It is because
of this boarder William COOPER that I am pursuing the BRAMELs. I hope to
identify William COOPER in greater detail. I have not yet located this
William COOPER in any other record.

James Abner BRAMEL was born 16 Dec 1848 in Maryland, a son of William
Fendal BRAMEL and Sarah LEACH. William Fendal BRAMEL, Sr. was born 17
Apr 1810, in Charles County, Maryland. He died 4 Sep 1870 in Mason
County, Kentucky, and was buried in the Old Mount Gilead Cemetery,
beside his wife. His wife Sarah LEACH was born 8 Apr 1812, and died 5
Feb 1860.

James Abner BRAMEL died 10 Jun 1912. If anyone has access to the 1910
Census, and would be willing to look up James BRAMEL therein, I would be
most grateful. Thank you, and I hope this information is of interest.
