I have found a lot of references to both names in Talley's Kentucky Papers a book found in both libraries in my area (Greenup and Boyd Counties, KY). They were found with Hieatts, Runyons, Reynolds, Burgess and others. I have copied several pages for the Hieatts and there are Dowdens and Holtons. I would be glad to check and see if I have any pertinent information. Anne in KY
