Reed, Isaac R. S.-Son of Joel C. and Emily Reed was born February 28, 1873,
deceased this life, May 24, 1956, age 83 years, 2 months and 26 days. He
professed a hope in Christ and joined the Ezrel Church (now Cherry Fork) and
was baptized by brother Reubin Cecil, June 3rd, 1896. In 1922 he moved his
membership to Tunnel Hill as a Charter member, was ordained a deacon of that
church in September 1933. He came by letter to Hazel Valley where he
remained until death. He was faithful to his church when able to attend.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Sallie Reed; 6 sons, 1 brother; 2
sisters, 2 children having preceded him in death.

Lay, William Alfred-Husband of Margaret Lay was born June 23, 1873, departed
this life, December 16, 1955 at the age of 82 years. He professed a hope in
Christ at about the age of 22 years. At the time of his death he was a
member of the High Point Baptist Church where he was a true and faithful
member. We know our loss is Heaven's gain.

Strunk, Herbert Ellis-Born May 21, 1882 deceased this life, December 13,
1955 at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 23 days. He was married to
Lousetta Acres who proceeded him in death 8 months ago. He leaves behind 3
children, 1 boy and 2 girls and a host of friends and relatives. He was a
faithful member of the Highway Baptist Church and a splendid citizen and
neighbor. Will be greatly missed in this community. We feel our loss is
his eternal gain in glory.

Baker, Lige-Born March 27, 1867, passed away Mary 17, 1956, age 89 years.
He professed a hope in Christ and joined the Capuchine Church and was
baptized the 2nd Sunday in March, 1902. He leaves an aged wife; 2 sons and
1 daughter and a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing. He
lived a devoted Christian life and attended his church every meeting as long
as he was able to attend. So we feel that our loss his eternal gain in
Heaven. Lick Fork Church.

Phillips, Sylvania-In memory of Sylvania Phillips who was born August 16,
1876, departed this life February 24, 1956, age 79 years, 6 months, 12 days.
She was the wife of Harvey Phillips and was a true and faithful member in
the Church. She leaves to mourn our loss, husband, children and a number of
grandchildren and many friends and relatives. We feel our loss is her
eternal gain in glory. Paint Rock Baptist Church.

Goodman, Canzada-In memory of Canzada Goodman, born March 12, 1894, departed
this life, September 9, 1956. She was baptized and came to the Paint Rock
Baptist Church July 30, 1950. She was faithful and lived a devoted
Christian life until death. She leaves to mourn her loss one brother and
many kindred and friends. We feel our loss is her eternal gain in glory.

Phillips, Sister Laura-Was born April 1, 1888, departed this life June 4,
1956. Age 68 years, 2 months, 3 days. She was married to Iowa Phillips
February 12, 1905, and to this union were born 2 sons, A. V. Phillips of
Oneida, Route 1, and L. C. Phillips of Helenwood, Tenn.; 2 daughters, Mrs.
Talt King of Helenwood, Tenn., Route, and Mrs. Ezra Sexton, Oneida, Tenn.
She leaves a number of grandchildren and great grand children, 2 brothers,
Ezekiel Strunk and Shelby Strunk; 3 sisters, Mrs. Columbus Jeffers,
Huntsville, Mrs. Osa Chambers, Huntsville and Mrs. Josie Phillips, Oneida,
and a host of friends to mourn her decease. She was a member of the Paint
Rock Baptist Church in which she came at an early date, and lived a devoted
Christian life until Jesus called her home to live in the paradise of God.
We feel our loss is her eternal gain, as the blessed Lord has spoken; he
that believeth on me, though he be dead, yet shall live again.

Smith, Rebecca Emiline-Was born February 11, 1884. Departed this life, May
21, 1956. Age 72 years, 3 months and 10 days. She was married March 6,
1905 to Pete Smith and to this union were born 13 children. Her husband, 5
sons and 1 daughter having preceded her in death. She is survived by 3
daughters: Mrs. Hume Wilson of Lexington, Ky., Mrs. Oscar Simpson of
Winfield and Mrs. Willard Chambers of Oneida; 5 sons, Lonnie Smith of
Boston, Mass., Forest, Carl, Mart and Hurstle all of Winfield; 4 sisters,
Mrs. Sally Duncan of Wonder, Ky., Mrs. Edd Chitwood, Mrs. Swag Chitwood and
Mrs. Lawrence Walker all of Winfield; 3 brothers, Doc Trammell, Henry
Trammell and Marion Trammell all of Winfield. She also leaves 14
grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a great host of other relatives and
friends. She professed faith in Christ early in her life and united with
the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Pine
Grove Baptist Church where she remained a faithful consecrated member until
death. She was a devoted wife and mother and was loved and admired by all
who knew her. We know our loss is great but we feel her gain in greater
because she has gone to be with God. We join the family in their
bereavement.

McCartt, James Preston-Was born January 7, 1871. He joined the Pentecost
Baptist Church, May 13, 1950. He deceased this life December 24, 1955 at
the age of 84 years, 11 months, 28 days.
