Wm. D. Adkin, a deceased distant cousin, claims that John Adkins and wife Sarah
Sally Owen are parents of Edwin/Edward Granville Adkins b. 1800 (our common ancestor),
Scott Co, KY, James Adkins b. 1805,
KY, and Waller Adkins, b. 1808, KY. Researchers on Ancestry.com also claim that
this couple had a daughter Nancy. I need to find the will of John Adkins to have
proof that he was the father of Edwin/Edward Granville Adkins. John Adkins is said
to have died on 6 Dec 1830 in Owen Co., Kentucky.

There is also a conflict on the name of John's parents. Some claim they are James
Adkins with wife Elizabeth of Virginia and others claim they are Edward Adkins and
Mary Frye of Pittsylvania, Virginia. James Adkins' will is said to be processed
in 1829 in Scott Co, Kentucky and I have written to that county to see if the will
of James and his wife Elizabeth c. 1830 can be found there.

I hope to find someone who will search for a will of John Adkins in Owen County.
