Don Gorin, 60, of Social Band Road, Campbellsville, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000 in Louisville, due to a sudden illness. Son of the late W.F. "Doc" Gorin and Marie Burress Gorin, he was born in Taylor County, Ky., on April 26, 1940 and was a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church. Gorin was an accomplished athlete, a graduate of Campbellsville High School and Tennessee Tech where he played basketball and baseball. He was a businessman having been a partner in Blevins-Gorin Construction Company and one of the founding partners of Wholesale Hardwood Interiors. In 1990, he was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year for the State of Kentucky by Ernst & Young Company. Gorin served in the Kentucky National Guard and was a hunter and preservationist. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law and two sons and one daughter-in-law, Beth and Todd Cox, of Nashville, Mark and Deborah Gorin of Indianapolis, and Brandon Gorin of Baltimore; four granddaughters, Katherine Gorin an!
d Diana Gorin, both of Indianapolis, Chelsea and Emily Cox, both of Nashville; his aunt, Mildred Burress of Campbellsville; and a special friend, Jan Hayes of Campbellsville. The body was cremated and a memorial service was at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to Ducks Unlimited.
