I'm looking for my husband's grandparents, Andrew Jackson Scott and Martha Burdine. We think he was from Wilton, Whitley Co., Ky....and Martha was from Grays, KY.
They had 6 children:
Arthur b. Aug. 14, 1909(8)
Cleo b. Jan 12, 1910
Jesse b. Nov 24, 1911
Georgine b. Feb 16, 1913
Charles Evans b. Oct 21, 1916
Sarah Mae b. ? died in the flu epidemic 1918-1919

Andrew Jackson died with his daughter, Sarah, during the flu epidemic. The other five children were sent to an orphanage (Odd Fellows Home, Campbell Lodge #665, Westbourne, Tennessee). Someone told us Andrew & Sarah were buried in the Bradford Cemetery (near Corbin, KY) .....we looked but couldn't find their headstones, but we did find Martha's parents (Burdines).

We have a poor quality copy of Arthur's birth cert (father=Jack, Wilton Coal Co.)
I can't read fathers birthplace or age, but mother (Martha Burdine) was from Grays, KY.

We have a birth cert. of Charles Evans: father=Andrew J., age 26, mother=Martha E. age 30

This would make Andrew Jackson birth in 1890, and Martha's in 1886.

** Could someone look in the 1900 census to find Andrew with his parents? (he would be 9 years old)
and Martha with her parents? (she would be 13 years old)

** Could someone look in the 1910 census to find Andrew as head of household with one or two children (Arthur & Cleo)

** Could someone look at death certificates for both Andrew and Sarah Mae??? 1918-1919.
(did they die in Westbourne, Campbell Co., Tennessee? (this is where the orphanage was.)
(Martha lived a long life and moved to Florida - but didn't raise the children)

** Is there an index for Bradford Cemetery??

So much to do.....so little time!
