Hello Every one,
I now know that Biddie Lawson b 1860 found on the 1910 Census was definetly my gggrandmother. Two of her Children were my Joseph L. Lawson and the other was Nancy that married Hiram Foley. I called my Uncle Ken today. He is 75 yrs old and he said that info was right. Biddie Lawson was Joseph and Nancy's mother. And yes that is my Greatgreatgrandmother. He told me a real funny story about Joe having a really mean Rooster that would attack all his grandkids. But when that old Rooster attacked his sister Nancy he went and shot it. He laughed and said he guessed it was ok that it could attack all of him and his siblings but it drew the line when it came to his sister. =) The reason no one remember's Biddie as a Lawson is because her First husband Lawson died fairly young. She remarried first to a Mahan, who also died soon after they married and then to a Rose. He couldnt remember the names of these gentlemen but told me that the second husband Rose had a so!
n !
by the name of Lee Rose that was a doctor down in Whitley around the time of 1940's or so. Unfortunetly, Dr. Lee Rose was killed by a cattle thief in the 1950's. Uncle Ken felt that some one should remember that. I guess it was pretty big news back then. I dont know if I wrote on here that my Lawson's were part of the Lawson's termed the "Dark" Lawson's due to their coloring but this is a reply back I got from that. "Sandra,
Yes, I've heard of the dark Lawsons. One of the common tales around here is
that one of the Lawsons married a fair complexioned woman and had children
then at her death he remarried to an Indian and had a large number of
children. To prove this, I don't have any idea but it's an interesting
assumption." I thought some one might be able to shed some light on this for me. Does any one recall this line of Lawson's? Thanks again, =)Sandra
