I'm sorry this is probably too late for you Jan, but here is what I received
from a friend when I inquired about the days and times that the Knox County
Historical Society was open. Maybe you have already gone up there and found
it open. I hope so. Mary Siler
Apparently the museum is currently open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from
10:00 am to 2:00 pm with those who know more about the records and research
being there on Monday and Friday. In the past beginning in the fall it has
only been open those same hours one day a week but I don't know if they will
now have it open these hours year round or not. Usually the week of the Daniel
Boone Festival they have some special events at the museum. This is the
link to the Daniel Boone Festival information but when I looked I see it has not
been updated since late January. They better get busy, the Festival is the
1st week of October this year. _http://www.ky24ihc.org/dbf/index.html_

Does anyone know when the genealogy library in Barbourville is open. I was
told that the Historical Society there had a good library. I'm coming down
for
the genealogy workshop and staying a few extra days so I thought I might
stop
by there and look thru their early records before Whitley County was formed.
