Harriet, thanks for the helpful offer.

My sincere apologies. I seem to have been unclear by asking about "parentage".

I certainly should have asked about my "grandparentage", and their ancestors.
Could I have included too much in my request for info about my grandparents,
Jesse Newton Northington and Frances Marie Dodd?

Yes, I have a birth certificate for Baby Girl Vanderstyne; which I received at
age 19
(after my adopted father's death) after sending for a birth certificate. It
had been a
major secret. Mother's aunt and my adopted aunt had made the arrangement.
I also have a certificate of legal adoption.

Hiwood, IL is a northern suburb of chicago. Mother was only there long enough
to
give birth.

My father, Raymond Vanderstyne, died in 1977, the same year my first child was
born.
His family was from Holland, and that is a separate search. I am in contact
with his
family.
